I would characterize Romeo as impulsive. “I take thee at thy word. Call me but love, and I’ll be new baptized. Henceforth I never will be Romeo.” Romeo boldly declares that he will gladly change his name for her which is a very impulsive decision. Romeo is very reckless and does not seem to think before he does anything. Since he is so impulsive, I think that this can cause Romeo to take his life at the end of the book.

I would characterize Juliet as wise. “It is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden” (Act 2, scene 2). Juliet is wise enough to realize that their love is abrupt, so she acts maturely by letting out her feelings. It is being in love that made Juliet more mature and wise.

I would characterize Friar Laurence as an honest mentor to Romeo and Juliet. “Holy Saint Francis, what a change is here! Is Rosaline, whom thou didst love so dear, So soon forsaken?” (Act 2, scene 3). Friar Laurence lectures Romeo on the suddenness of his love but then agrees to perform the marriage ceremony. Friar only agrees to unite the union of Montague and Capulet.

I would characterize the nurse as kind and devoted to Juliet. “Your love says, like an honest gentleman, and a courteous, and a kind, and a handsome, and, I warrant, a virtuous—.” The nurse acts as a motherly figure for Juliet and is very devoted as she tells Juliet about Romeo. The nurse cares a lot about Juliet being happy, but in this case, it means with Romeo.

I would characterize Romeo as immature. “The exchange of thy love’s faithful vow of mine.” Romeo wants to marry Juliet the day after he met her. Juliet feels like the whole idea of marriage is a little rushed. However, Romeo feels that if they don't get married soon their families will find out and split them apart. The dramatic irony is that we know that the families will find out and Romeo and Juliet will die at the end.

I would characterize Juliet as courageous. “Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow.” Even though she knows that marrying Romeo will cause a war between the Capulets and Montagues. Juliet is willing to risk everything to marry Romeo.

I would characterize Friar Laurence is a trustworthy person. “For this alliance may so happy prove; To turn your households’ rancor to pure love.” Romeo knows he can tell Friar Laurence the truth because he is like a father to him. Friar Laurence makes sure not to tell and agrees to marry both Romeo and Juliet.

I would characterize Nurse as caring. “Your love says, like an honest gentleman, and a courteous, and a kind, and a handsome, and, I warrant, a virtuous—.” The nurse is kind of like a motherly figure for Juliet and is very devoted as she helps Juliet and Romeo get married. The nurse cares a lot about Juliet being happy with Romeo.

I would characterize Romeo as childish. Romeo wants to marry Juliet even though he just met her at a party the other day after not being over his last lover. I feel like the whole idea of marriage is a little rushed. Yet, Romeo feels that if they don't get married soon their families will find out disown them.

I would characterize Juliet as mature. I think she's mature because she thinks that the whole idea of getting married to Romeo is a little rushed but because their families are spread apart they need to get married before the parents find out.

I would characterize Friar Laurence is a trustworthy person. Romeo knows he can tell Friar Laurence the truth because he is like a father to him. Friar Laurence makes sure not to tell and agrees to marry both Romeo and Juliet.

I would characterize Nurse as caring. The nurse is kind of like a motherly figure for Juliet and is very willing to help out Juliet in her time of need as Juliet and Romeo gets married. The nurse cares a lot about Juliet being happy with Romeo.

    Romeo
“I’ll tell thee ere thou ask it me again….my intercession likewise leads my foe,” (87). In this quote, Romeo is asking to the Friar to help himself and Juliet get married but is so excited that he talks in riddles, and the Friar cannot understand him. I think he shows how enthusiastic about love Romeo can get, and sometimes how immature he can be. He is so exciting that he cannot even speak clearly enough for the thing he wants the most.

    Juliet
“If thou dost love, pronounce it faithfully. Or if thou thinkst I am too quickly won, I’ll frown, and be preserve..” (75). In this quote Juliet says, you might think I’ve fallen in love too easily, but I do not, and she explains how their love is real. I think this shows that Juliet’s character is mature and aware but she isn’t afraid of love. She is ready to truly love Romeo, but wants him to understand she isn’t rushing into it.

    Friar Laurence
“For this alliance may so happy prove, to turn your households’ rancor to pure love,” (89). In this quote Friar Laurence explains that by helping Romeo and Juliet with their marriage, it might end the feud between their families. This explains his character because it shows how he is wise and wants the greater good by wishing for the horrible feud to end. He is hopeful that marrying Romeo and Juliet will help Verona be more peaceful and free of hate or death, but we know he is sadly mistaken.

    Nurse
“Pray you, sir, a word; and as I told you, my young lady bade me enquire you out,” (101). In this quote the Nurse warns Romeo that he better mean what he said about marrying Juliet. This shows that the Nurse’s character is very protective of Juliet, by warning Romeo. She is a loving caretaker and won’t stand in the way of Juliet marrying her true love.

In Act II many characters developed like Romeo, Juliet, Friar, and Nurse. These characters play key roles in Act II. I will characterize them so you might get a summary for them.

Romeo and Juliet are characterized as star crossed lovers that believe they are meant to be together. The evidence for this is when they are on the balcony together talking about how they will get married “But, soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.” This quote proves that they think they are meant to be together because Romeo compares Juliet to the sun and soon after we find out they get married. Juliet is obviously in love with Romeo too when she said “Three words, dear Romeo, and good night indeed. If that thy bent of love be honourable, Thy purpose marriage, send me word to-morrow,”

Friar is like a father figure for Romeo because he shares his wisdom with him and influences Romeo. This is evident when Romeo goes to Friar after meeting with Juliet “Virtue itself turns vice, being misapplied; And vice sometimes by action dignified. Within the infant rind of this small flower Poison hath residence and medicine power:”

Nurse has the role of a mother figure for Juliet this is easy to see when the nurse supports Juliet's decision to marry Romeo. She also sends Juliet away to the Friar to get married “Then hie you hence to Friar Laurence' cell; There stays a husband to make you a wife: Now comes the wanton blood up in your cheeks, They'll be in scarlet straight at any news.”

Romeo is shown to be misleading and immature. “For stony limits cannot hold love out, and what love can do, that dares love attempt. Therefore thy kingsmen find thee here“. Even though he sounded sweet by telling Juliet that his love is too strong that even their families can’t get in the way, it’s not true, it’s misleading. Instead of him thinking with his head in the cloud I think it would be safer for both of them if Romeo would speak with a little more sense in his thoughts.

Juliet is shown to be aware. “If they do see thee, they will murder thee”. Unlike how Romeo thinks she speaks while looking at their reality state. If they become too careless, the families might find out about them and more chaos may strike. Due to this being a consequence they might face Juliet manages to control Romeo’s childish behavior by warning him what situation they both are actually in currently.

Friar Laurence is shown to be understanding and responsible. “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be, for this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households' rancor to pure love”. Even though Romeo had fallen for someone who’s families might never get along he cares about Romeo and agrees to help make this wedding happen. Though checks in with Romeo that it’s certain that he loves Juliet through his heart and not just through his eyes due to him loving Rosaline not too long ago.

The nurse is shown to be supporting. “Good heart, and i' faith, I will tell her as much. Lord, Lord, she will be a joyful woman”. As a person who loves Juliet, she accepts Romeo and Juliet is in love with each other right away. And even though Romeo is a Montague she still conveys his wishes to Juliet. She overall loves the fact that Juliet has finally found someone not judging the man she chose in any way or form.

I would characterize Romeo as reckless. This is because of how he is trying to get Juliet like how he just left his friends out of the Blue to see a girl he just met. "It is the East, and Juliet is the sun!"(Act 2, Scene 1) . In that quotation, you see Romeo's desperation.

I would characterize Juliet as brave. This is because she is willing to love Romeo even though she could cause a massive war between the Capulets and Montagues."If that thy bent of love be honourable, / Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow."(Act 2, Scene 1). Here you see her bravery very boldly.

I would characterize the Nurse as supportive. This is because she doesn't get mad about her love for Romeo. ‘Then hie you hence to Friar Laurence’ cell. There stays a husband to make you a wife.’(Act 2, Scene 2). Here she talks about how Juliet shall get married and shows her support.

I would characterize Friar Lawrence as a trustworthy person because he is very quiet about Romeo and Juliets' situation.‘So smile the heavens upon this holy act That after-hours with sorrow chide us not!’(Act 2, Scene 2). Here he shows his support and trust for his decisions.

If I had to describe Romeo, I would call him immature and irresponsible. He does not seek ahead when he does things. When he asked Juliet to marry him, that was kind of a dumb and really spontaneous thing to do. No one in there right mind would do such a thing since they barely just met each other. Also he doesn’t consider that their families will get in the way. “For stony limits cannot hold love out, and what love can do, that dares love attempt. Therefore thy kingsmen find thee here“. Romeo saying this will not stop a feud between the families.

Unique Romeo, Juliet is more responsible and smarter in this situation. “If they do see thee, they will murder thee”. She knows that their families could get in the way although she might like Romeo. She is more on the fence and assesses the situation more than Romeo does.

Friar Laurence is a father figure and someone Romeo could talk to. Romeo explains his love to Friar Laurence because he knows he can trust him. He gives advice whether it is wrong or right. “For this alliance may so happy prove; To turn your households’ rancor to pure love.” He is always on board with Romeo even if it isn’t the smartest thing to do.

The Nurse is very caring and kind. She wants happiness for Juliet and treats her very well. She is like a mother figure to Juliet just like how Friar Laurence is to Romeo.

In "Romeo and Juliet" we can characterize characters on what they do and how we act. In this blog that is what I will be doing.

Romeo is characterized as a lover. Romeo mourns for love like when he met Juliet and instantly falls in love with her this is provided when he he was with Juliet and says “With love’s light wings did I o’erperch these walls, For stony limits cannot hold love out, And what love can do, that dares love attempt; Therefore thy kinsmen are no stop to me.”

Juliet is characterized at the start of the book as a naive girl and I think she still is one because she fell in love with Romeo as soon as they meet which is preposterous marrying someone you just met. She also treats marriage like it is a light thing you can see this when the nurse come back from meeting Romeo and she says “would thou hadst my bones, and I thy news.
Nay, come, I pray thee speak, good, good nurse, speak.” It is almost like she is treating it like a game.

In "Romeo and Juliet" the Friar is characterized somewhat as a advisor to Romeo this is supported when he says “In people as well as plants, good and evil lie. But if the evil is more, the plant will die.” Which he said to Romeo to warn him about people.

The Nurse in “Romeo and Juliet” is characterized as a role of laughs than seriousness, but she is still a important role because she is basically a second mother to Juliet. This is supported when Juliet's mom kicks her out but lets her back in because she knows the nurse took care of Juliet like a mother “This is the matter. Nurse, give leave awhile, We must talk in secret. Nurse, come back again, I have remembered me, thou s’ hear our counsel. Thou knowest my daughter’s of a pretty age.”

Romeo: I will describe Romeo as a mercurial and impulsive person, he changes his love in one evening. “With Rosaline, my ghostly father? no; I have forgot that name, and that name's woe.” He had forgotten Rosaline and fell in love with Juliet so fast. Just like he wants to marry Juliet the second day he meets her.

Juliet: I will describe Juliet as a circumspective person. At the beginning of act 2 scene 1, she notices that it is really dangerous for Romeo to stay here and how did Romeo climb the high wall. She also remembers to ask Romeo about the time she sends the nurse, “At what o'clock to-morrow Shall I send to thee?” Compare to Romeo, she is calm and careful.

Friar Laurence: I will describe Frair Laurence as a wise and calm person. First, he heard about the love between Romeo and Juliet, he was stunned by the huge and sudden change of Romeo. He thinks Romeo love with his eyes instead of his heart, it is not real love. “Holy Saint Francis, what a change is here! Is Rosaline, whom thou didst love so dear, So soon forsaken? young men's love then lies Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes.” But he calms down really fast and realizes that it may bring the two families together. He also tells Romeo to be wisely and slow, don’t rush.

Nurse: I will describe the Nurse as a kind and facetious person. She is very kind to Juliet, “Pray you, sir, a word: and as I told you, my young lady bade me inquire you out; what she bade me say, I will keep to myself: but first let me tell ye, if ye should lead her into a fool's paradise, as they say, it were a very gross kind of behavior, as they say: for the gentlewoman is young; and, therefore, if you should deal double with her, truly it were an ill thing to be offered to any gentlewoman, and very weak dealing” She wants to check the man who wants to marry Juliet and warned him to be kind to her. She acts like she has a headache and did not tell Juliet what Romeo says. She makes the play more relaxed and interesting.

    I
would characterize Romeo as immature. Romeo is immature and doesn’t think very hard before he does something or says something. The first day Romeo and Juliet meet he wants to marry and Juliet thinks it is all happening too quickly.

I would characterize Juliet as sophisticated. Juliet is sophisticated because unlike Romeo she takes things slower than Romeo does. Juliet loves Romeo but doesn’t want to take things too fast.

I would characterize Friar Lawrence as trustworthy. Friar Lawrence is trustworthy because Romeo feels like he can tell him anything. Almost acting like a father to him.

I would characterize the nurse as kind and caring. The nurse is kind and caring because she supports Juliet's love for Romeo. She wants Juliet to be happy.

I'd describe Romeo as carefree and impulsive. It's been only a day since he broke up with Rosaline and already he wants to marry Juliet. When talking to Friar Laurence, the friar asks about his relationship, and Romeo tells him that "I have forgot that name, and that name's woe". In one day he completely forgot about Rosaline and has fallen immediately in love with Juliet.

Juliet is much more mature than Romeo, and is also more cautious. When Romeo arrives at the orchard, Juliet is afraid that "if they do see thee, they will murder thee". Juliet is scared that Romeo's passion may get him killed.

Friar Laurence is trustworthy. When Romeo talks to him about Juliet, he tells Romeo that "this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households' rancor to pure love". He gives advice to Romeo and is always there during his time of need.

The nurse is understanding and caring. When she finds out about Juliet's relationship with Romeo, she does not get mad. The nurse helps by telling Juliet about the wedding. She stays loyal to Juliet and does not tell Lord Capulet or Lady Capulet about Romeo.

Romeo - Romeo is a hopeless romantic. He falls easily, he loves very deeply. But he is also not someone who thinks very far ahead. He seems like a timid and peaceful boy, we see that by his reaction to the fights between Montague and Capulet.

Juliet - Juliet is move level headed than romeo, but she is still someone fell in love so easily. I believe that romeo might be her first love because she is 13. She seems like a lonely person, seeing as she can never really leave home. She doesn't seem to be a very careful person. She also seems like someone who dreams a lot, when she is sleping or awake.

Friar Laurence - He is a father figure to Romeo, and cares about him a lot. He might seem strict, but i don't think so, i think he is exactly the opposite of that. He seems like a foil character of Sir Montague. He must be a really wise guy but what Romeo asked of him was so absurd, ever he couldn't wrap his head around it. Who wishes to marry someone after they have known them for one day? He must be a really careful and patient person, based on how much attention he puts into his plants.

Nurse - The nurse, is the kindest and closest to Juliet inside the capulet household. She seems to be very similar to Friar Laurence, in her relationship to Juliet. She is a very goofy character, and she does not seem very complex. You can see this by how happy she was to hear that Juliet wanted to marry Romeo. Almost anyone would have the reaction of friar laurence, which is ‘What are you thinking?’ but she did not think about anything except that it would make Juliet happy. She is not stupid though, as she took the precaution to meet with Romeo to see if he was good enough for hr precious Juliet.

friar is specalies as to why romeo is not still not in love with rosaline and has moved on with juliete. he is a important figure in romeos life
the nurse is really exited and she can't hold in her feelings. she is kind and also really close to romeo.

Romeo: He is looking for something (or someone) to fill the gap that Rosaline left so he falls in love with Juliette very easily. He is very excited to marry Juliette and he is very happy.

Juliette: She is very lonely because she can never really leave her house and Romeo is probably the first boy to ever really express interest in her that is her own age. She is excited to be married.

Friar: A father figure to Romeo and is very kind to Romeo and cares about him a lot, he even married Romeo and Juliette for them.

Nurse: More of a mother to Juliette than Lady Capulet, she spends the most time with Juliette out of anyone and is basically part of Juliettes family.

I would characterize Romeo as too quick to make decisions “The exchange of thy love’s faithful vow of mine.” The day Romeo meets Juliet he already wants to marry her which is a little absurd considering that they just met.

I would characterize Juliet as someone who is more intelligent“It is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden”. Juliet takes the relationship between the two lovers a little more cautious than Romeo but over time they still get married to each other.

Friar I would characterize the friar as wise “For this alliance may so happy prove; To turn your households’ rancor to pure love.” The Friar tells Romeo that if they get married than it will force both their families to love each other and stop fighting.

I would characterize the Nurse as caring and protective of Juliet “Pray you, sir, a word; and as I told you, my young lady bade me enquire you out,”. That quote shows how the Nurse says to Romeo that he better be telling the truth about what he is saying about the love between them.
